Q: Can I determine what portion will apply to child's Apple ID credit vs. bill to organizer

I've setup Family Sharing.  My children have 'Ask to Buy' enabled.  I believe an approved purchase will apply against my child's Apple ID credit balance (if one exists).  Any amount not covered by my child's Apple ID credit balance will be billed to my default payment method (as organizer). 

 

1) Is the above assumption correct?

2) Will the Ask to Buy request indicate if the portion of the purchase that will be billed vs. covered by Apple ID credit?

3) Is there a way to monitor the credit balance associated with my child's Apple ID?

 

[ I know I can determine the credit balance associated with my child's Apple ID by:

     a) Opening App Store on my child's device and scrolling to the bottom on the Featured screen

     b) Logging into iTunes on a computer with my child's Apple ID and password and viewing Account Information

 

If I'm not with my child or do not have a computer available, is there a way to determine the balance associated with my child's Apple ID from my device? ]

    You are correct, the child's balance will be used first, and only any remainder of the purchase price will be charged to your account.

     

    As far as I'm aware the 'ask to buy' doesn't indicate whether anything will be charged to your credit card. And for the child's balance I think that you will have to log into their account, which you can also do on your device : tap on your id in Settings > iTune & App Store and log out, and then log in with their account ; their balance should show on the account's screen (after logging into their account tap on it and then tap 'view apple id' on the popup to view the account's details) ; and then tap on their id to log out of it and log back in with your account
