Q: How do I delete unwanted apps from iTunes?

I'm on a iMac, OSX 10.10.3 Yosemite and want unused/unwanted apps removed from my iTunes app list forever. I've removed them from my devices because I don't like/use them, so I don't want to see them every time I update/sync my devices.  I've tried control/click, right click, and dragging to trash with no luck.  Thanks in advance for your help!

I Don't know why they do not get deleted from your iTunes library on the Mac, since they should be deleted when you do what you say you are doing. However, what you cannot do is delete them from your purchase history, you can never delete them from your purchase history. All iTunes purchase are forever tied to your Apple ID and cannot be deleted.

IF you want to hide the purchases in iTunes, look at this.

Hide and unhide purchases in the iTunes Store - Apple Support

You may not see the X in the upper left corner of the app when you mouse over it, but it is there, just invisible. Click on where it should be and this should still work for you.

    I figured it out:

    1. Open iTunes with no devices plugged in.

    2. Click on MY APPS - You should see a grid of all app icons.

    3. Left click on the icon you want removed to highlight it.

    4. Then right click and select DELETE.

    That's it. Thanks.

I'm happy to hear that you found a solution, but I assumed you were already doing that and it wasn't working. Anyway, that's great news.
