I Have an iCloud email account but also a hotmail account I'm tired of all the spam on hotmail so I wish to remove the hotmail account. How do I do it and will there be any concequences with my contacts etc

Assuming you mean remove it from the mail app: Settings app > Mail,Contacts,Calendars > ,{your hotmail account} > From here you have two options. You can simply delete the account (Delete Account), or if you are syncing contacts with that account (contacts is turned On), you can simply turn off Mail and leave the account in place.
thanks for your help, I will now contact all my trusted contacts To switch them to my iCloud email address and delete the hotmail account
