iMac/Apple TV - Games

I have an iMac in one room, a TV in another and a router in another. I want to hook my TV up to iMac and play games using a wireless controller through my TV. I guess I can use Apple TV for this?

Does anyone know how I go about setting this up or what equipment I need?

iMac (27-inch, Late 2013), OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

If I understand what you want to do correctly, no that is not currently possible with an ATV. ATV is designed to watch content (movies, photos, music) that are on the Internet. You can also use it to view the same type of content if it resides on the TV. The ATV is not a games controller and also does not interact with one.

Please read what the ATV is designed for in http://www.apple.com/appletv/what-is/

Please correct me if I am misunderstanding what you are trying to do.
