Weird Disk Utility Volume Name
I am running into this on my iMac. That unexpected volume name is not the UUID
Anyone have an idea what this means?
iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.4), 3 TB Fusion Drive 27" iMac
Your Mac is using core storage - the bottom of the window shows that via 'Logical Volume Group'. That is how Fusion drives combine 2 disks.
Do you have an actual problem or is it just that you think this is abnormal? I don't believe the ID's are incorrect (I haven't examined a Fusion drive in Disk Utility).
