SonicWall affecting Safari?

Good morning all

New poster here. I manage about 30 Macs and several PC in an office environment. On Friday we updated our firewall from a Netopia 9100 to a SonicWall tz170. Before switching we had no problem browsing, searching stock photo sites or entering passwords.

After the switch, anyone with OS 10.4.8 can't loggon to mail accounts like Yahoo mail or Hotmail. We also can't search for images on sites like gettyone.com.

I thought I had a fix by resetting Safari from the File menu. It worked the first time but the problem returns after the first successful visit.

This problem does not affect PC's, or anyone with OS 10.3.9. If I use Firefox I have no problems.

One problem that seems specific to my computer is I can't get to Apple.com unless I reset Safari, this is not consistant with all users however.

Our consultant and I can't find anything unusual in any of the setting for the SonicWall, so we are stumped. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I solved my own problem. There is a feature in the SonicWall called the CFS (Content Filtering System). I don't know much of the technical jargen and this is a very simplistic explanation but this firewall is more advanced than our old one and was filtering out the requests from Safari to certain "unapproved" web sites even thought they are legitimate companies, i.e. apple.com, gettyone.com.

After turning this feature off everything started working nomally. Check the forums for your firewall hardware if you encounter similar problems.
