Bypassing iPhone 4 passcode (iOS 7)

Okay so I have an iPhone here with me from a deceased family member and I need to unlock it without restoring to manufacuter setting. The wife to the deceased tried many times to unlock it but failed all times and now the screen says "IPhone disabled connect to iTunes Store". I tried to do this by hooking it up to an iMac but to dice it can't get anything from it. So here's my question how do I open the phone without restoring the settings. I can't restore because there is very important stuff on it. Btw it won't let me sync it to the iMac for some reason either. Hope this made sense please help me. 🙂

The SIM will not contain anything as far as text or photos. The iPhone does not write to the SIM. I'm sorry for your loss. However, as a retired LEO, if that device contains any evidence, if you want any of it to be admissible, do not touch it. Turn it over to law enforcement and have their computer forensic experts handle it.

It is not Activation Lock that is making it say connect to iTunes. That is because of the multiple attempts to unlock the device and it is not in Disabled Mode. Activation Lock is what is going to prevent you from activating the device if you restore it using the directions provided in the link that Carol provided.

Once the device is disabled, there is no restoring it with the data intact. Your only choice is to restore as new. Also, if you do not use the computer the former owner used, then you will encounter Activation Lock when you get ready to activate it. Without that passcode, you will not be able to continue. The wife will need to take the device to a physical Apple store with a copy of the death certificate to get the Activation Lock removed.

I Also have another question Now. Will the SIM card contain the text messages and photos on the phone or no? btw I don't think this phone has ever been connected to a computer idk for sure though but Chris about the activation lock is that whats making it say connect to iTunes Store? (The wife gave us the phone to try to open because we needed it as evidence because the man , my uncle, was murdered)
