Error connecting to internet (iPhone 5)

While I was browsing youtube I found that my phone disconnected and was running on 3G/LTE. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why so I simply tried to connect to the network. It works right away, then it switches back to LTE, and a screen pops up, like if you were to log into a network.

It's sort of like a webpage, in that at the very top it says "http://www.apple.com", then says Log In immediately under it. Next to that is a button that says cancel, and the actual text of the page reads some HTML coding. "<HTML><HEAD><TITLE>Success</TITLE></HEAD><BODY>Success</BODY></HTML>"

I'm not sure what that all means or what to do about the issue (Tried restarting phone, turning to airplane mode, and going into the settings to reset the network settings, no results).

I think my current iOS is 6.0.2... Pretty old, but I was very happy with how it worked. It's ironic because I had just decided it was time to install 8.4 since everyone had said and told me good things about it, and I can't download the update without a Wi-Fi network connection.

Ipad 4

Same problem, resetting networks and renewing. Taken off autojoin etc

Nothing works.

Cannot update to new IOS as it wont connect .

Just logged into Apple to post this from my PC and had to accept new terms and conditions.

Thought i would check my ipad and it now works.

So either Apple has fixed the issue or perhaps logging in to Apple and acceptng new T&C's but I can't see this.

So all I would go back and check your devices as it may now be fixed!

This stupid bug is keeping my iPad retina grounded. Don't bother resetting things because it doesn't make a difference. My iPhone 6 and Apple notebook still connect to my home WiFi without issues. Look how many people this is affecting. Does anyone at Apple care?

btw- the auto-login doesn't work for me, mainly because it's already off by default, after resetting network settings. And since it can't successfully connect to the network, it doesn't matter whether it was auto-login or not.

One other thing, does Apple ever plan on formatting this Apple web forum to mobile devices? Many other web forums seem to have this capability. It's been quite a few years already and there has been no progress? If I'm missing it, please point me in the right direction.

Update:

Just checked my iPad and it's connecting to the network now. My original post will remain.
