iPod has problems connecting to wifi?

My iPod touch (gen 3 or 4) never had any problems connecting to my home wifi until recently. It wasn't automatically connecting so I went into system preferences and all that and tapped to connect to my wifi but a little window opens up. The URL is www.apple.com and it has log in but it's just codes.
