No option to add card to Apple pay (in UK)

Hi, I've been trying to add a card to Apple pay which launched here in the UK yesterday but there is no option in the passbook app to add a card. I have an iPhone 6, I'm running 8.4, my region is set to UK (always has been), my card is supported, I've tried switching off and on, soft reset etc etc and nothing is bringing up the option to add a card. All I get is the option to scan or search for an app. out of curiosity I changed my region to USA and the option magically appeared but as I'm in the UK with a UK bank card it obviously won't accept the card.

I have had a look online for some ideas but the only suggestions do a fix are the ones I've already tried. Is there anyone else in the UK that has tried everything but still can't use this feature? Does anyone have any clue what's going on??

The suggested solution is to switch region to the USA (as you did), add the cards, and then switch back. Supposedly (according to a couple of sites) that will work with UK cards

Yeah I tried that. I got all excited when the option popped up but then it rejected my card because it wasn't from one of the U.S. banks listed So I couldn't go any further. It's a mystery.

Just to confirm - the card is with one of the UK banks that supports Pay?

Have you read the "how to " documents ?

There are no fundamental issues in UK, I had 2 x Cards registered by 09:00

Yes Nick101, I bank with RBS which is one of the banks supporting the system. Even if it weren't there should still be the OPTION to add a card and then it would knock it back but there's nothing.

Wegras, I have read them numerous times. The option to add a card simply isn't there. I can't physically input any information The only thing I have the option of doing is adding compatible apps from the App Store.

This is odd - you're right, you should be able to at least try to add the card

Try a restart of the phone?

Yes - that means Pay hasn't activated on your phone. Try restarting.

I'be done a soft reset, is that what you mean? Or proper backup everything and start again kind of reset?

Soft reset was what I meant - hold Home and Sleep until the Apple logo appears. If you've tried that, probably no point in trying again

Amelys, I saw exactly the same screen as you. For reasons unknown (but likely trying to help someone else here troubleshoot an issue) under Settings > General > Language & Region > Region I had Brazil selected. 😕 Having changed it correctly to United Kingdom passbook changed to show the two sections as below and I was then able to add my cards.
