flash should only be downloaded from Adobe.com, there are no exceptions to this rule under any circumstances.
are you installing it to an account that has administrative rights? If not boot into one that has administrative rights.
Repair your drive permissions.
About Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions feature - Apple Support
If that does not work you can create another admin account and see if it installs from there to test.

I have taken it to the Genius Bar and they recommended a complete application scan . So I am doing a backup now and I will bring it back to the Genius Bar in the morning.
