iPod Touch 6th Generation Charging

The iPod Touch 6 just came out today and I was looking to upgrade from my iPod touch 4th generation. Currently, my charger has an input of 100-240V 50-60 Hz and an output of DC 5V 1000MA. I was wondering if anyone knew if this would work for the iPod 6 or even an iPod 5 since if it could not, most likely a 6 would not work either.

The adapter block would work, however the 4th Gen iPod Touch uses the 30-pin cable while the new iPod Touch would use the lightning cable. You would need a different cable. However, the block and cable come with the iPod.

Wrong answer. The poster is talking about a wall charger with a USB port, not the charging/syncing cable that connects to the iPod to computer/charging source. The 1Gt hrough 4G iPods use a 30-pin connector/cable while the 5G and later use a smaller 9-pin connector

The iPod 4 charging port is different from the iPod 5 and 6 charging port.

Hope I helped,

Zack 🙂

The iPod 4 charging wire is the same as the iPod 5 and 6 charging port.

Hope I helped,

Well, you edited part of it, but, then modified the other part to contain wrong information. It is nice of you to want to help and reply to people here, however you need to ensure the information that you are providing is correct. Part of the TOS for the forum suggests that you have also tested your response when possible. Just so you are aware, the responses that Illaass and I have provided were correct, except for my slip about providing a new block.
