I have an iMac 2012 Yosemite and a Samsung ML 1665 printer. Printer connects sometimes correctly and sometimes not. Change the cable. The same problem. Deconnecting the cable and reconnecting solves the problem for one or more prints. Seems to have a software connectivity with Samsung ?

It sounds like your printer doesn't always print from your Mac because of connection issues.
Trying a different cable is a good troubleshooting step. Since the issue continues, try the steps in Get help resolving printer issues on your Mac.
