Mac Book 10.5.8 upgrade

Have OS X:10.5.8 (Leopard). How far can I upgrade? My stats. Identifier: MacBook3,1 Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo, Speed: 2.2 GHz, Processors: 1, Cores: 2, L2 Cache: 4 MB, Memory: 1 GB, Bus Speed: 800 MHz, Boot Rom Version: MB31.008E.B02, SMC Version 1.24f3.


I was told that I can go to the Snow Leopard. After the SL, can I upgrade to the Lion, ect., (with regards to my stat limitations).

You can install 10.6 however you do not have enough RAM installed for 10.7.


10.7 requires 2GB of RAM minimum

10.6 requires 1GB of RAM minimum.

If you purchase more memory & install it you can update to 10.7. I think you should get the maximum if possible (6GB if you use 2 x 3GB modules).

You do need to install 10.6 & update it to be able to use the App store to purchase 10.7. You can skip 10.6 if you have another Mac to purchase & download 10.7 from the App store.
