What to replace Adobe Flash Player with on iMac

Read that Adobe Flash Player should be deleted because of security problems, but what should replace it on an iMac.

iMac (24-inch Early 2009), OS X Yosemite

There is no alternative to Adobe Flash Player for viewing Flash content on a web page. The Safari extensions "ClickToFlash" and "ClickToPlugin" prevent Flash content from loading automatically. Similar extensions must exist for Firefox and Chrome, but I'm not familiar with them. You must always do your own research to determine the safety and effectiveness of any third-party software before using it.
