what happen when my iphone update in itunes, it show "there was a problem downloading software for the iphone, "iphone". an unknown error occurred (-39)
iPhone 5s, iOS 8.4
Is your iTunes up to date as well? I got this error and turns out I needed to update iTunes, once I had it was fixed.
Go to iTunes
Click on Help drop down box
Check for Updates
