I was able to pick up the Samsung 27" curved screen LED-Lit monitor during the Amazon Prime deal today. In order to ensure the highest quality resolution, what is the best cable to make the connection to my early 2008 Mac Pro? Will the Cable Matters gold plated DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable work?
As always I appreciate the advice!

DisplayPort and Mini DisplayPort are electrically interchangeable, but the mini DisplayPort connector is much smaller. The Mac-end requires Mini DisplayPort, the TV is likely [full size] DisplayPort
Any brand-name cable (so that some company somewhere is standing behind it) should work fine. I would include MonoPrice cables as well. Much of what you see pushed as superior (e.g., Gold Plated!) is just hype.
If a 4K or above monitor you want a cable rated for revision 1/2 of the displayport spec.. The cable should say DP 1.2

The Mac is primarily for business use so I opted not to spend the extra money on the 4K. I am saving to get the fabulous new MacPro and 4K monitor for personal use - hopefully this year. Thank you for taking time to respond!
