LG GSA-H10N slow start
I've added the LG GSA-H10N burner, along side the original superdrive that came with my MDD. I set the LG to master and the superdrive to slave. The superdrive stopped working, and is no longer recogized in profiles. Although this isn't really an issue for me (I probably will hardly or never use it anyway), but it may be contributing to the problem. I leave that to your wisdom.
My problem is the LG starts off pretty slow. For example: a full DVD disc burn at 16x takes about 6-7min, from the time you hit the start button in Toast till it finishes writing (not including verification). The slow down is not the actual burn time (burns just fine), but the "filling cache" and "writing lead-in". Each one takes about 2min. My old NEC-3500AG was almost instantaneous in those areas. A full DVD disc burn took about 3.5 min.
However, reading discs is no problem. DVDs play ok. Copying files from discs are good too. If anyone could shed some light on this matter, that woud be great.
Thanks in advance.
G4 MDD Dual 1GB, 1.5GB ram, LG DVD-RW + Superdrive Mac OS X (10.4.8) 80GB, 120GB, 2x 250GB HDs, Radeon 9000 128MB
