Jul 16, 2015 5:25 AM in response to RDHby bailey#70,I've had the opposite. Tried to make a purchase in McDonalds, my watch beeped and I got a haptic response but no confirmation on the screen and the attendant said no payment had gone through. This happened 3-4 times before I paid the old way.
I described this to an Apple Genius in a store about an hour later (I was collecting a replacement iPhone) and asked "Can I buy something here using it so I can show you what happens?" The response? Sorry we can't... we're not set up for it yet! Sigh!

Jul 16, 2015 1:48 PM in response to bailey#70by RDH,Incredible isn't it! You would think Apple would lead the way with their own technology.
Anyway I used twice in Waitrose today and got a buzz on the wrist on both occasions and a tick on the screen. I guess that means it's working OK.

Jul 17, 2015 2:33 AM in response to nick101by bailey#70,Well once again I solved my own problem... after hours of hunting on-line and watching the demonstration on the Apple website to see what it should be doing I turned my watch off and on again and, presto, now when I double-click the button my debit card appears as expected.
Now I just need to find somewhere to try it out (none of the shops I've been to in the last 24 hours have contactless payment enabled!!!)

Jul 17, 2015 2:36 AM in response to bailey#70by nick101,Are you in the UK? Anywhere that has contactless payments can take payment via Pay. I've used M&S and Nandos

Jul 17, 2015 2:40 AM in response to nick101by bailey#70,Yeah I am in the UK, in the deepest darkest depths of Northamptonshire... the only two places I've shopped since "fixing" it are my local shop (Tesco Express) and Pizza Hut. Neither of which supported contactless at all! I'm not going out of my way to buy stuff just to try it but may have a "cheeky Nandos" over the weekend and will try it there if I do.

Jul 17, 2015 2:16 PM in response to RDHby mandruff,I made a purchase today in a BP garage with my iPhone. The phone said 'Done' and showed the transaction amount, but the checkout girl said it hadn't gone though. I tried again, and the phone did the same thing, but this time the girl said it had gone through ok. She had a laminated crib sheet that mentioned this kind of problem, obviously not the first time it had happened.
The history in Passbook shows a single transaction, and I hope that's the way it stays when it comes to my actual bill.
All very odd, because I wouldn't ever expect the phone to say 'Done' until a full end-to-end transaction is complete and acknowledged by all parties.

Jul 18, 2015 12:44 PM in response to RDHby G3gator,For some reason, using the iPhone gets a confirmation and receipt. Using the watch does not. (I am in the US and have been using Apple Pay for several months).
