If you have a Mac you can test it (I did and it works for me)
send a photo from your phone to you iMessage mail address. It should arrive at your mac instantly but also appear as a new message on your phone

Jul 16, 2015 7:05 AM in response to AdrianHunterby Cbux,Its when people send me pictures. They are sending them to my cell phone number, but usually from an iPhone so they go iMessage, but they only arrive on my MacBook.
