Home Sharing of Photos with Apple TV problems. My Apple TV will work for about twenty minutes then will tell me it is not connected to Home Sharing.

What is causing my Apple TV to show my photos for about 20 minutes and then report that Home Sharing is not on?

I purchased Apple TV so that I could use my Photos on a TV screen for references for oil painting. It is a grand idea but Apple TV stops after about 20 minutes and says that Home Sharing must be turned on in ITunes. Home Sharing is still on. I turn it off and turn it back on and then it works again. What could cause this.

iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2011), iOS 8.4

Make sure computer hasn't gone into sleep mode

If on wifi try ethernet

To see a current status of the network go to istumbler or similar for a report. Look for signal strength, noise, nearby networks.

Thank you. First I tried the ethernet but it did not work. (I am thankful since I love getting rid of cords.)

Then I checked the sleep mode and found it coming on every fifteen minutes. Since I changed that, the photos have remained on the screen for two hours.
