Q: Iphone6 plus disconnects during backup after installing iOS8.4 and iTunes 12.2.1.16

Itunes "sees" my iphone and seems to sync but when it tries to start the back up I get the "iTunes could not back up the iPhone because the iPhone disconnected." I have verified I have the latest version of iTunes and iOS and restarted both my computer (MAC-OS X Yosemite Version 10.10.4).

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 8.4

after review some older posts found out I had to delete my current backup and i was then able to complete a backup successfully
