For assistance with this issue where your Mac is unable to receive mail from a certain account, I recommend using the Mail Connection Doctor to find out more.

Jul 20, 2015 6:40 AM in response to alex_h1by CJC-PE,Thank you. I don't know how to interpret the information provided by Mail Connection Doctor, but I will pursue that further.
I also tried "Synchronize," as suggested in Re: will not receive without restarting mail app, but I am nut sure I how often I will need to do that.
