All credit and music on account lost?

I just got the iPhone 5s and I used to have the iPhone 4. I tried to sign into my old Apple account on the new phone but some reason it just wasn't taking the e-mail I had on the old account, so I changed my primary e-mail, and this seemed to work at first. Then I realised that changing the e-mail my accountt seemed to esentailly create an entirely new account, I lost all the credit, all the music and all the TV programmes I had on my account. I went to "Purchased" and then "Not on this iPhone" but it just said there was nothing there and that I had no credit. I really don't know what to do and I had a lot of money's worth of music on that account that I want back. i tried to contact customer support and was given the option to call them or have an online chat with them, both of which I had to pay £25 for, and I just refuse to spend that amount of money to talk to someone at Apple. Anyone have any ideas what I can do?

OK, we need to go back to square 1. What do you mean "you changed the email"? What, exactly did you do? How did you "change" the email? Where did you "change" the email.


When you say it wasn't "taking" your original Apple ID email, what do you mean? What was happening when you tried to use that email? Where was it that you tried to use that email that you go an error? What was the error?


The more info you can provide, the more likely it is we can resolve this for you.

Apologies, I let someone else write that for me and they didn't exactly get all the details correct. Basically what happened is I got into the new phone with my old Apple account, but to use it on the new phone I needed to verify the primary e-mail address, which since I made this account many years ago that e-mail adress has been deleted, so I went onto the Apple website and changed the primary e-mail address from there. This changed the name of my account and seemed to change it into an entirely new one. All my music and credit I had on the account wasn't there. Do you know how I could possibly get it back?

To retrieve your missing purchases, you will first need to know the account you have used to purchase them:

If you have issues accessing your original Apple ID, reset it through:

http://iforgot.apple.com


Then, redownload your purchases and create a back up.
