Q: Not Solved:  2013 MBA hangs on boot-up, then reboots. Encryption related.

This 2013 MBA hangs on boot-up, then reboots. Your thoughts? Please let me know if additional information would be helpful.

Symptoms:

With FileVault Encryption on, it hangs when booting, and then reboots. It pauses for about 5-10 seconds prior to rebooting. It does not happen every time. But, I can make it happen if I change the wallpaper when used without the monitor, shut down, attach monitor (Apple), and reboot. If encryption is off, it does not exhibit the problem.

System:

  Model Name:                       MacBook Air

  Model Identifier:                   MacBookAir6,2

  Processor Name:                Intel Core i7

  Processor Speed:               1.7 GHz

  Number of Processors:       1

  Total Number of Cores:       2

L2 Cache (per Core):           256 KB

  L3 Cache:                            4 MB

  Memory:                              8 GB

  Boot ROM Version:             MBA61.0099.B19

  SMC Version (system):       2.13f15

OSX 10.10.04, all updates installed. Yosemite was installed on a clean drive, not over a prior OS.

Console Info:

I get the following 5 crash reports after each boot-up. But, the crash reports are generated EVEN WHEN IT DOES NOT HANG ON BOOT-UP. They occur in this order:

I booted in safe mode and then ran Disk Utility Repair Permissions. Here are the results (in safe mode): Sorry about the small font.

    Repairing permissions for “Macintosh HD”

Group differs on “Library/Printers/InstalledPrinters.plist”; should be 80; group is 0.

    Permissions differ on “Library/Printers/InstalledPrinters.plist”; should be -rw-rw-rw- ; they are -rw-r--r-- .

    Repaired “Library/Printers/InstalledPrinters.plist”

Warning: SUID file “System/Library/CoreServices/Remot…/ARDAgent” has been modified and will not be repaired.

User differs on “private/var/db/displaypolicyd”; should be 0; user is 244.

Group differs on “private/var/db/displaypolicyd”; should be 0; group is 244.

    Repaired “private/var/db/displaypolicyd”

    Permissions repair complete

The crash report on reboot to normal mode continues to deny writing or creating fmfd:

    fmfd(250) deny file-write-create /Users/JeffreyPhD/Library/Caches/com.apple.icloud.fmfd

It appears that an fafd exec exists in the /usr/libexec folder. Here's a screen shot of the info:
