I have formated my new external hard disk to ExFAT format and saved all my photos from Window.
While i create a new photo library in one of the folder of the external hard disk.
It show the error message below
" The Library could not be opened because the file system of the library's volume is unsupported."
Please help.

An iOS device such as your iPhone cannot read that format.
Use iTunes to sync photos between iPhone and your PC.
iPhoto needs to have the Library sitting on disk formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Users with the Library sitting on disks otherwise formatted regularly report issues including, but not limited to, importing, exporting, saving edits and sharing the photos.
