Removing requirement to enter password when staring computer

Question

HI guys

i I have a 2015 MacBook air 13"

I want to remove the requirement to put the password in every time I start the computer.

I Have tried most suggestions by others. I have turned off FileVault.

I Went into users and groups and selected my user. I unlocked the lock at bottom left of screen.

Selected login options. Selected - automatic login. The drop down menu says "off" or " guest user"

How do I get my user to show up in the automatic login drop down menu?

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but try Settings>Security&Privacy

Uncheck "require password"

Do you use iCloud password as account password?

Automatic login isn't available with FileVault or iCloud account passwords
