Can a debit card be used for making purchases using my Apple ID?

Hello to all!

I have been using the Master cards of my contacts [with their consent, of course] for purchasing Apps from App Store.

When I try to purchase using my Bank's debit card, the transaction is being refused.

Do I need to get a credit card from the Bank and would such a card allow me to purchase Apps from the App store?

Thanks in advance!

See this support document for accepted forms of payment. Not all debit cards are accepted. It could be the debit card, or it could be that information you are entering does not match exactly to your account. This can be at times the address, or format of your name. Also make sure that you have an address in the country of the iTunes store you are trying to make a purchase in. Payment methods you can use in the iTunes Store, Mac App Store, App Store, and iBooks Store - Apple Support
