Photos - really struggling - need help!

I am a real estate agent - I use to LOVE the MAC because I loved the apps and how easy it was to take photos, organize in iPhoto the way I wanted to - and place ohotos and video into iMovie to make a virtual tour of the home. Ever since the "upgrade" to photos - its been a horrific experience in my business! I need to move photos into the MLS systems, I need to move photos into iMovie, and I need to organize my photos by the property address, as sometimes photos are taken over a period of a few days. I dont want to use iCloud since I have HUGE storage needs locally and really dont need the added monthly expense as a self-employed person. This new app is so disruptive - it takes me 3 times longer to do what I could do before on iPhoto - drag and drop is now NON EXISTANT into other apps like dropbox - if I need to quickly share with a customer to approve the shots taken... or even to attach a photo to an email to send to a printer for a flyer. The app is so simple that all the important features I used are gone - and render the app unusable in my business. Searching for photos in this app is a nightmare. I now have to copy the photos I need to my desktop to make anything decent happen - so its extra work and extra time. I need to find a better solution to manage my photo library now - what applications are out there that are simple to use and give me the power that iPhoto gave me to manage my own library? HELP!!! Its a sad state of affairs that there is not even a pulldown menu item for "photos" as an application on this forum!!!

As Larry pointed out you can still use iPhoto if you get the 9.6.1 version.

I need to move photos into iMovie,

1 - make sure your Photos library is designated the System Photos Library:

2 - create an album titled MLS and add your photos to it. (this is optional but makes it easier to locate the photos in iMovie.

3 - open iMovie and select the Photos library and My Albums. Select the MLS album and you're ready to go:

I need to organize my photos by the property address, as sometimes photos are taken over a period of a few days.

There are two ways you can to that:

1 - put the property address into the title field under the thumbnail using this Applescript app: Photos for Mac - Batch Change Title to Text w/Padded Sequential No.

2 - or into the Description field with this Applescript app: Photos for Mac: Batch Change the Descriptions

Then create a Smart Album with the criteria Title contains "the property address" or Description contains "the property address"

Name the album with the property address and it'll be in the sidebar for easy access.

NOTE: when I got to this I realized that the MLS album isn't needed as you can access the property address smart album in iMovie.

I guess I should stop whining and spend another few hours going back to iphoto. But then who knows what amazing glitches I would run into if I elected to go back?

Question: Is there a limit to how many photos can go in a iphoto library. Apple staff could never really answer the question. So I elected to create several libraries. But that is a bad idea for photo management. "Which library is the photo you are looking for filed in? I guess Apple has no concept of managing photos, archiving, labeling, curating.

iPhoto 9 and Photos can manage up to 1,000,000 items in a single library. Of course how well it does that is dependent on the CPU speed, amount of memory and amount of free space on the hard drive.

I find Photos to be a bit slower than iPhoto particularly when opening an album for the first time in a session. It gives me a second or two of spinning cursor as it generates the thumbnails for that album. Once generated Photos is very fast.
