Apple Music won't work on iMac

I'm using an iMac, few months old, never had any problems with it, downloaded the new version on iTunes the other week and been using Apple Music the 3 month trial for the past 15 days, love it, also not had any problems with it, until today.

I turned on my iMac this morning to listen to some music as I crack on with some work, but iTunes won't let me stream music, it will let me play music I have downloaded or saved as "make playable offline" from the Apple Music service, but won't let me stream or download new music, just keeps coming up with this error code (400).

The only music I am able to stream is the Beats1 radio station, and I've reset my computer twice and signed out and into Apple Music multiple times.

Please if anybody could help that would be great.

(Also Apple Music works on both my iPad and iPhone using the same account, just not on my iMac)

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

Exact same issue here (works on iOS, but not OSX), but it has since stopped giving me error messages. If trying to stream a playlist (album, for instance) it just appears to continuously skip to the next track but never plays anything. Been on phone with Apple Support but couldn't resolve so now awaiting callback from engineering team in next couple of days.

Had the same issue here (couldn't play or download song for offline mode).

Many other people and myseIf was able to fix the issue by changing the DNS. We were using Google's DNS :

Try this. Go to :

system preferences > network > wifi > advanced > dns

if you have 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, remove them and left it blank instead or use those two :

  • 199.85.126.10
  • 199.85.127.10

Hi guys,
I'm just using my standard wifi setup here in the UK.
So, my DNS router has my routers' local IP address.
Changing DNS to the ones mentioned above wouldn't help for me.
Am I missing something here?

Cheers,
Markus

EDIT: Works now with 199.85.127.10
can someone explain what's going wrong here? Interesting case in my opinion.
Cheers for you help.

Thanks for the replies everyone, Changing the DNS server to 199.85.127.10 fixed it for me instantly, as soon as I clicked apply iTunes started playing the playlist its been unable to play over the last few days.

Heres the fix (as stated above but in more depth)

  1. Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Network.
  2. Select the network connection service you want to use (such as Wi-Fi or Ethernet, unless you named it something else) in the list, then click Advanced.
  3. Click DNS, then click Add ➕ at the bottom of the DNS Servers list.
  4. Copy and paste 199.85.127.10
  5. Click Ok in the bottom right
  6. Click Apply
  7. Sit back and stream apple music.
