Unable to reinstall OS X Yosemite
I am preparing my old MacBook Pro (2011) for sale and I have followed the recommended procedure as follows:
- Choose Apple menu > Restart. Once your Mac restarts (and the gray screen appears), hold down the Command (⌘) and R keys.
- If you’re not connected to the Internet, choose a network from the Wi-Fi menu (in the top-right corner of the screen).
- Select Disk Utility, then click Continue.
- Select your startup disk on the left, then click the Erase tab.
- Choose Mac OS Extended (Journaled) from the Format menu, enter a name, then click Erase.
- After the disk is erased, choose Disk Utility > Quit Disk Utility.
- Select Reinstall OS X, click Continue, then follow the onscreen instructions.
When I select Reinstall OS X, a screen comes up which says 'To set up the installation of OS X 10.10, click Continue.'
After I receive a message which is checking the computer's eligibility, I can an error message which says 'An error occurred while preparing the installation. Try running this application again'. Of course I have re run it many times but I get the same result!
Can anyone help me please?
