Is Bitdefender a vailid adware remover?

I have not found any adware removers that are not adware themselves!

I am be cautious and would like to know if Bitdefender is valid and if so, does it work well?

Thanks for your help.

iMac (21.5-inch Late 2009), OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

Do some googling:

"Bitdefender scam" and similar keywords should give you an idea if they do doggy stuff.
"Bitdefender wikipedia" should lead you to wikipedia where you can read about the company, its history and potential issues. Wikipedia is also likely to have links to additional related material.
"Bitdefender review 2015" or similar should lead you to current comparisons with other AV-products.
