Q: Can't add music from my collection to my library

Ever since I started using Apple Music on my iPhone I have had such a hard time adding my own albums that are in my iTunes library. For instance, Wilco just released a new album for free yesterday. I downloaded it and it's in mp3 format. I want to add the album to my iPhone but I can't. I know if I have to hit the ... next to the album in iTunes and then click on my phone icon in iTunes on my MacBook and then make sure the box is checked to only sync songs that are checked off, and then click sync. I've done this a number of times for albums and they don't appear in my music on my iPhone. The only time this worked was when I converted one album to AAC from mp3. But, I did this for some other albums and it didn't work. The only other way to do this is to turn off iTunes music library and add it, but then I'll lose the albums I've added my Apple Music to my iPhone. I don't subscribe to iTunes Match, but this would not help for the new Wilco album anyway, since it's not part available in Apple Music yet. Very frustrating experience.

The following page should help but it didn't. My songs are less than 200MB or less than 2 hours long and the quality is fine. There is literally no help on this issue anywhere.

Anyone have any experience with this?  Thanks.
