Is it possible to restore the older original OS X and its included applications from the internet
if the computer shipped with an OS X newer than Lion 10.7.5? That may mean an attempt to
use a different hard disk drive as a target for such a venture, so as to not disturb a newer OS.
{With a newer computer I recently purchased, which includes certain applications not available
now in Yosemite but were with the Mac, and its Mavericks system, I'm unable to get the free
update/upgrade version of say iPhoto since it's not in a list of purchases in the later OS X}
If you have a backup (suitably a clone of the full running former system) that, then may be the
only way you would still have what once was standard fare with your computer as it shipped.
Later on, such things as Firmware Update may change the ability of a Mac to boot old OS X.
Sadly when things change they aren't always for the best. And without knowing the extent of
such change, an offer of something new may totally negate what worked well, before hand.
For my newest (December 2014 new-old-stock) purchase, I'm considering a clone on the
second internal hard drive; yet would prefer an upgrade OS X there instead, with its Apps.
Otherwise, the path may be to upgrade the running 10.9.5 to a later system that may or
may not be practical for my purposes. This was a hardware upgrade to use later OS X.
In any event...
Good luck & happy computing! 🙂
