could not connect to apple tv

I am using an Apple TV 3rd generation with a Macbook pro Retina and OS X Yosemite.

After the Apple TV wakes and I try to Mirror my mac i get a message saying "Could not connect to Apple TV"

If I restart my Apple TV it works fine until the next time it sleeps.

Help pls.

Hi idanya,

I'm not sure if your issue is with the Apple TV going to sleep or the Mac going to sleep, so I'm going to include information for you on how to change the settings for both.

Put your Apple TV into sleep or standby mode - Apple Support

You can also go to Settings > General > Sleep After to change how often your Apple TV goes into sleep mode.

About Energy Saver sleep and idle modes in Mac OS X - Apple Support

Note: Portable computers have no network connectivity when in sleep mode, but can wake if the Energy Saver option "Wake for network access" is enabled. If you wish to use file sharing or don't want to interrupt your Internet connection, you should not manually put the computer to sleep, and you should drag the "Computer sleep" slider to Never.
