Stops working

My gmail and Facebook (FB) stop working either from startup or into my usage of those sites. It says "kill pages" or "wait" or sometimes "snap"...I also am fraught with not connecting when I get the spinning rainbow icon so have to restart. I can't turn it off via the apple icon, rather just pushing power button. Upon start up I hold down the R and P along with command and option when I hear the signal I'm "on". It helps for a while, but then all the above starts in again. I changed over to Chrome when I had issues with Safari. Nothing seems to help? Also did the diagnostic ... upon startup pushed D and then it did the lesser of the 2 tests and came back with no problems??? Help!!! Please!!!
