how do i find the imei number of a connected device in iTunes without connecting the device

i lost my phone and in order to report it to the police i need the imei number, my boyfriend stupidly threw out the box so the only way of finding it is hopefully through iTunes as it is connected to my account. The trouble is, i don't know how to do this! can anyone help out ASAP

Your cellular carrier will have your IMEI number. And, if you have backed up your phone to iTunes on the computer, it will show up when looking at a backup. Go to iTunes, then go to Edit>Preferences>Devices. From there, go to the backup list and hover the mouse pointer over a backup of the device and the numbers will appear in a small popup on the screen.
