Jul 20, 2015 6:01 AM in response to WickedJargonby ibenjah,I had the exact same problem with apple music it was working fine on my iPhone but not on my macbook pro. Spoke to apple who where of no real help they told me to deauthorise iTunes then reauthorise it, start my computer in safe mode, restart my computer etc etc and none of it worked eventually i gave up after 3 hours. Until now i saw that changing DNS settings might help and guess what it works completely fine now. I don't completely understand DNS but i changed it too 199.85.126.10 and it worked. You can change it in settings>networks>DNS>+

Jul 20, 2015 6:07 AM in response to ibenjahby aikidosensei,Im pleased its helped, however Apple should really step this up, I imagine for some reason their Apple music servers have blacklisted some providers DNS lookups etc ( which means some UK users like myself with SKY won't be able to connect)
this happens occasionally also to large gaming companies like blizzard their ISP used to periodically block all users of Virgin . it had nothing to do with anything blizzard did but it meant 1000's couldn't play world of warcraft !
Im sure Apple will get it all sorted as soon as possible.

Jul 20, 2015 6:08 PM in response to KaiserSoze101by fintan_moloney,- Click on your “Apple” menu and choose “System Preferences“.
- Double-Click on the “Network” icon.
- Go to the “TCP/IP” tab. ...
- Enter two or more OpenNIC DNS server IP address, preferably the nearest to your location, which you can find here.
- Apply your settings by clicking the “Apply Now” button.

Jul 21, 2015 1:25 AM in response to fintan_moloneyby danb516478,Changing the DNS fixed this for me. Thank you ibenjah. Bizarre problem!
Who is providing the DNS server at that address? (Just so I know...)

Jul 21, 2015 1:27 AM in response to danb516478by fintan_moloney,I think the lads were saying its Norton's DNS but I could be wrong there. Changing the DNS worked for me too. I hope Apple are looking at this thread so they can sort it out.

Jul 21, 2015 2:46 AM in response to fintan_moloneyby danielfromborehamwood,Exactly same problem for me.
Skips tracks on Macbook Pro but fine on iPhone.
Changed DNS server, as per above, and it works fine.
Apple?

Jul 21, 2015 3:13 AM in response to danielfromborehamwoodby fintan_moloney,Hopefully Apple looks into this soon as I've gotten a lot of people to try Apple music and some of them wouldn't know how to change DNS servers and so on and they will just revert back to Spotify or whatever they were using previously.

Jul 21, 2015 12:11 PM in response to WickedJargonby c_j_p,Changes that worked on my MacOS in the UK....
System Preferences
Network
Click lock to make changesWi-Fi => Advanced…
DNS tab
Add to DNS Servers (IPv4 or IPv6): 199.85.126.10
OK
Apply
========
And on my Windows 7 as per i_Mike's instructions...
open Network and Sharing Center (from control panel), change adapter settings (on the left hand side), right click on the connection that you're using to connect to the internet, right-click -> properties, Internet protocol Version 4 -> properties, enter this IP in the "Preferred DNS Server" (Use the following DNS server addresses) 199.85.126.10 , hit ok, ok - and that's it, should be working straight away.
