Q: upload photos from iPhoto to carousel/Dropbox

I am trying to upload the photos to my Dropbox account.  When I use drag and drop method, it takes forever to upload the photos.  In the iPhoto, it does not have a share function to the Dropbox.  I know the iCloud is easy to upload.  However, when I try to share an album with friends, they must download iCloud and create an Apple ID.  Apple iCloud does not support the web viewing.  Some of my older friends are reluctant to open an Apple ID account.  On the other hand, I can share the album with friends through Dropbox or Carousel and my friends get view the photos on the web instead of going into the iCloud account.

Does anyone know the faster way to upload photos from the Mac(mini) to the Dropbox?  My OS is 10.9.5.

Thanks and hope to hear the good news soon.

However, when I try to share an album with friends, they must download iCloud and create an Apple ID.

You can publish a shared album in iCloud as a web page, and send the URL to your friends.

Only the people, who know the URL can access the album in iCloud.  They don't need an AppleID, see:  iCloud Photo Sharing FAQ - Apple Support

If you enabled the Public Website option when you set up your shared album, your friends and family can view your photos and videos from any current web browser using a link that you provide

In the iPhoto, it does not have a share function to the Dropbox.

Have you tried to use "File > Export" in iPhoto to save copies of your Photos to Dropbox? This way you can set the size of the exported versions and do not necessarily upload full size versions for sharing.
