Great catch CCT 🙂

Cut the region using the scissors tool..... instead of just dragging the end of a region to a different length....
That is what i'm doing now but in the past i have found a way to do this but i cant find it anymore.
That is definitely not the expected behavior.
I would do some standard trouble shooting "to get to the bottom of it":
Hope that helps

Edgar,
What I was guessing is going on.. (and of course, I could be wrong 🙂 ) is that...
The region contains some long notes triggering maybe an Arp or sample..... and when the OP shortens the region by dragging the right hand side.. the note is still being triggered before the end of the region and so the Arp or lSample.. will continue to play past the end of the region..., unless you cut the region and shorten the note(s) as per the dialog box that pops up.....
I did a few tests here and could recreate the OP's observation here if i just dragged the region end.... but not if I cut it....
However, of course, something else might be going on that i cannot recreate and as you said.. that would be unexpected behavior...
To the OP...

What exactly are you doing now.... and what did you used to do in the past.. as Im not sure which method(s) you are referring to?
Cheers..
Nigel
Yes, as long as the start of the Note Events is inside the Region range, then it will be triggered (and usuallly cut off at the end of Region if the Note Event is outside the Region range.
When the OP stated that "there is midi data in it that is outside of the region", I assumed the entire Note Events from beginning to end. If that is outside the active Region, then there should be no sound.

Yes.. if that is the case.. then that's what I also call unexpected behavior and is something I cannot recreate here..
oke let say i have a region that is 1 bar long, in that region i have 4 notes al of the same lengte that are 4 beats let say 4 kick notes. now when i drag the region at the frond or the back 1 note away so that the note is not showing an the region is now 3 beats long so there are now showing 3 notes. when ihit play logic stil captures the note and still plays the note. also if i have a note that is sustained and is out site of the region it stil let me here the hole note.
In the past i have look on the internet and found a setting in logic that you can put on and then logic will never play notes or sustained notes even out site of the region
I Will check That and leave a messages after that. big thanks
Thanks, it was the clip length and i was searching in the setting for days.... big thanks
