Jul 17, 2015 11:20 PM in response to amjoustraby Kappy,Well, you can take your chances on buying a Chinese or Korean knockoff display for around $350 plus shipping. You'll need to spend around $10.00 on tools. Then you'll need to figure out how to make a major disassembly in order to remove the old display and install the new one. Then hope it works. Meanwhile, having done all this you will no longer get any support from Apple, so if you screw it up you can't take to Apple to fix it for you.
Or you could buy an external display with the same specs using the same LG panel for under $500 and use it as an external monitor until you toss the old machine. It's not an easy road. Take from one whose been there already.
