My Macbook Pro won't turn on when i push the power button. If it turns on, it will occasionally go blank and then i return to the home screen.

I tried these steps and the computer worked beautifully for a few weeks and then the process started again.
This time on one occasion , the computer made the startup noise but did not come in when the power cord was detached.
Does this mean i have an internal power supple issue?
I am disappointed to hear that your MBP has reverted to bad habits. I assume that you repeated my prior suggested steps. Also try to run an Apple hardware Test:

That may provide a clue. Note that an error free AHT is not definitive.
