Can anyoe help me figure out why the red underline is not apprearing under misspelled words using Safari on my iPad air? It isn't working on numerous websites, including this post here.

It sounds like you're not seeing the autocorrect function working as it should in Safari. I would check to see if the Check Spelling function is enabled here in your Settings:
Add or change keyboards - iPad User Guide
Set typing features. Go to Settings > General > Keyboard.

In spite of having every setting absolutely correct on my iPad and on my iPhone, I do not get the red underline either with misspelled words. I get it in the mail app, Pages and many other apps, but not here using Safari. I am clueless as well.
I am also havig this issues. did you get this reslved, really do not want to contact apple support over this.
NO, I have never gotten the issue resolved. It's not important enough for me to contact support about, so i just live with it and don't really think about it all that much.
