Help! I think my phone is jailbroken(?)

I was looking up cool things to do on iPhones and there was an ad that popped up it said "Get cool apps for your iDevice!" so I clicked it. I always charge my phone on my laptop because it doesn't work in the wall. Anyway, as soon as I clicked the link it started downloading something and I clicked cancel but it opened anyway. Then all of a sudden my phone rebooted and all my apps were missing except for the ones I installed from the app store. Only a few apps that came with my phone were there. One app was new it said "Webapp1" and the app picture is just white. I am so scared. I looked up what the things that were wrong with my device and it says something about it being jailbroken. What does this mean? It said I can fix it by restoring my device. I tried this and it's still the same. I tried everything. I don't even know what jailbroken means. A thread on the apple website said that my phone is going to be broken forever unless I buy a new one! It said it's not covered by Apple because I messed it up. I don't know what I did and my family can't afford to buy me a new phone. We don't have much money to begin with. I honestly meant no harm to my phone. I was actually about to put my phone in airplane mode because the website I was originally on said it helps it charge faster. I shouldn't have clicked on the ad. I've been crying for about 1 and 1/2 hours and my mom keeps asking me what's wrong but I just say I stubbed my toe. My grandfather bought me this phone and he already had to put out money twice because I dropped it. I just keep hitting myself because I'm so stupid. PLEASE HELP ME. Anyone. Just tell me:

1. What does jailbroken mean?

2. How do I fix it?
3. Is it covered by warranty?

1. What is a jailbrake?

Easy. Apple makes the device easy, hiding many functions from the user. That is like in a jail were you can only do as much as Apple allows you. With a Jailbreak you can exit this "jail" and access new features. For instance you were not able to change the Home screen background in the earliest versions of iPhone OS/iOS. With a jailbreak it was possible to change the background to any picture. And because jailbreaks are modifying the device deeply Apple wants to get rid of jailbreaks. My opinion is: it's good for people who want extra features and absolutely know what they do! It's not for those who don't know the device good and just want to save money on apps...

2. Try to restore the device using these steps: If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support (English, you can change the language by accessing your local apple.com-Website and entering HT201263 into the search field.

3. Normally Apple is not helping with problems that are because of jailbreak. But if it really is the way you described Apple might help you. It would help a lot if you have an AppleCare Protection Plan. But you should really try to solve it yourself first using the steps in the link!!!

Hope that helps, feel free to ask you something is unclear!
