Q: I have an Apple TV 3rd Gen Rev A and running iTunes 12.2.1.16 Need to restore the Apple TV but when I connect it to the computer iTunes does not see it. What am I doing wrong?

I am all set. Thank you Carolyn. Turns out I was using a mini usb cable that was for charging only.
