How do I determine the size (in MB/GB) of an album in Photos? I want to know the size as I prepare to transfer the photos to a CD. I'm currently using Yosemite .

iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

I am not aware of a way - an Album does not have a size since it is a logical arrangement of photos and their size will depend on how you export them - if you export as TIFFs you will have a much different size that is you export as low quality JPEGs

export them to a desktop folder and then the finder will report the size

I was pretty sure that in the former 'iPhoto' that there was a tab at the bottom of the pictures that let you know the size of the folder (this is how I would determine if the photos would fit on a CD)

Thing is that was just a guess - as is the one in Photos too, based on the assumption you exported at the 'Current' setting. Exporting at any other setting - either higher or lower quality - would produce a different result.
