Headphones issue with iRig HD

I've just bought the iRig HD. I've found it works fine when I plug the cable into the charging dock, however if I plug the headphones in (So I can hear the sound through the headphone) it automatically adjusts the guitar input to the headphones instead of the charging dock and hence stops working properly.

Any advice? It feels like I've just missed a simple option somewhere.
