I'm trying to connect an arduino to my macbook pro and wanted to see which communication port I'm connected to. I didn't see anything in System Information to help me identify com ports thru USB connections. Please help. Thanks

You might be able to do that via a terminal command but in general most mac users don't deal with com ports. You plug a device in to the USB port and it shows up. Run the system report from the about this mac dialog box. It will show you what is connected to your computer.

if there is a terminal command i should find out what that would be. Also running system report from the About This Mac only brought me to System Information, so that wasn't helpful at all. Where is System Information can I see the connected USB devices? Under USB only gave me specs of current USB drives.
Does it show devices connected to the USB ports? When I launch it I get just the internal devices but I don't have anything to connect to the USB port to test this out. Did you launch it with arduino connected to the usb port?

i can actually see my USB rs232 breakout board under USB category in System Information.. however, I still don't know the COM port to connect to via iTerm2.
