Stripe on screen

It's a hardware problem caused by pixels burning if it stayed. If it has dissapeared it's most likely caused by a software glich, maybe from the animations. If it appears again try to hold down the home and power buttons for 10 seconds to restart the phone and see is the stripe there. If it's not- probably software, but if there- hardware. Hardware = go for a replacement.

I haven't seen something like this but it's most likely caused by the animation. The iPhone 5 is 4 models older if we count the new one that's going to come out this year, so it might show some signs of lag. It might be a laggy animation.

Bug. A reset should help, but as you described the problem it sounds like a lag, so it doesn't have to really bother you I think. As I said, software for me. But there are, although minimal, chances that it could be a hardware fault. If it appears again, get a replacement, or just buy the new iPhone when your can upgrade, because all technology is aging and needs replacement after 5 years or so. Thanks for the fast responses!
