I have a new Samsung TV and went to use the mirror function on the television. I do not have Apple TV, but would like to mirror my phone directly to the television. Is there a specific app I must use for my Apple iPhone to work with the Samsung TV?

IM sure you have figured it out by now but you DONT need Apple TV to mirror on a Samsung tv. There is an app you can get that allows for mirroring. There are two apps, one is 2.0 and the other is a 1.0. Depending on the model and year of the Samsung tv, either one will work just fine.

Depending on the model of TV, you may be able to use Samsung's own Smart View App.

Otherwise, you will need either an Apple TV, or the Digital Av Adapter.
Dual View has nothing to do with screen mirroring. It shows the content of 2 different sources, and doesn't work at all with iPhones - only recent iPads.
You can use HDMI with a cable.

Mirroring requires an Apple TV.
Some folks have reported they have gotten chromecast to work too.
You could install an airplay app on your pc. Connect the pc to your TV.

The Samsung Smart View app sends video content to the TV, but doesn't mirror the iPhone screen. The only wireless way to mirror is to use Apple TV.
There's a feature called Dual View in the App. It works only on certain TV models.

What are the NAMES of these two apps? I don't mean to be dense, but they can't be just 1.0 and 2.0. Aren't those just the VERSONS of the app?
